THE GIIANTS’ CLIFFS
The Giants’ Cliffs compose some of the most spectacular scenery in Tenerife. Their impressive, vertical walls sweep down to the ocean from heights that, in some cases, can reach 600 metres. At their base, the sea bed, at a depth of 30 metres, an enormous nature trove is revealed that attracts scuba and deep-see diving fans.
CASERIO DE MASCA
In the interior of the Teno Rural Park,in the municipality of Buenavista del Norte (in the region of the Isla Baja area), Tenerife’s deep ravines spread out. Amidst amazing abrupt rockiness, one comes across this picturesque old farmhouse, the CaserÃo de Masca, recently declared an ethnic and architectural reserve and which is one of the best samples of natural architecture to be found in Tenerife.
TEIDE NATURE PARK
A network of national parks within the Canaries Archipelago is making an attempt to maintain its most characteristic eco-systems. Thus, the Teide Nature Park, located in the centre of the island of Tenerife, gives rise to the best show of sub-Mediterranean vegetation. On the other hand, with an mean altitude of something over 2,000 metres, the Teide Nature Park offers us one of the most spectacular shows in volcano environments at world level and represents the best show of volcanic, high mountain ecosystems in the entire Canary Islands.
THE TENERIFE AUDITORIUM
The Tenerife Auditorium, the work of architect, Santiago Calatrava, is a building with a strong sculptural influence. Set in an incomparable scenic setting, it offers the visitor the possibility of enjoying a major work of architectural art together with others produced by nature, such as the sea and the mountain range that forms the ancient massif of Anaga.
OROTABVA HISTORIC CENTRE
The town of Orotava preserves its perfectly delimited historical centre, declared as Historical-Artistic Heritage. Lining its streets, choc-a-block with interesting buildings, innumerable works of art worthy of admiration are grouped together, such as the Hermitage of the Calvary, the Church of St. Augustine, Constitution Square, Escultor Estévez Street, the Church of St. Dominic or the former Convent of St. Benedict the Abbot, amongst others.
GARACHICO HISTORICAL CENTRE
The Town and Port of Garachico, founded by the Genovese Christobolo de Ponte in 1496, proudly guards the proof of its brilliant past in the form of mansions, convents and churches of the finest architecture. Garachico, declared as a Site of Cultural Interest in the category of Historical Settings, has buildings as interesting as the San Roque Hermitage, the old Dominican Convent, the ancient Franciscan Monastery or the Estate of El Lamero.
