| VERONA | |
Verona is one of the cities appointed by UNESCO in 2000 on account of its history and culture and because of the beauty of its historical centre. It is one of the most attractive and most visited cities in Italy. It is where the Romeo and Juliet tragedy took place and which saw the birth of artists as important as Veronese. Geographically, it is located in the Veneto region, 120 kilometres west of Venice and a short distance away from Lake Garda, the largest lake in Italy. In addition, the city is bathed in the enchantment of the Adige river. For art history fans, it is the ideal city, thanks to its many Romanesque and Renaissance monuments. Its Arena amphitheatre and Lake Garda have given it the international fame it now enjoys. |
